Leather Resource of America, dba Conneaut Leather, is a leather finishing facility supplying quality whole hide leather to the contract and residential furniture, automotive, and aircraft markets. Conneaut specializes in an unparalleled in-stock program, color matching capabilities and a high level of individualized customer service. Founded in 1903, Conneaut Leather has grown to be an ISO certified company producing over 500 hides a day in a state-of-the-art facility with the finest and most technologically advanced machinery.

  • Recent introduction of Showcase Chrome Free stocked product further illustrates our commitment to provide products that our customers can use and promote as “green products”.
  • We are the only vertically integrated US leather supplier with control of the product from the raw hide through the tanning and finishing processes. In processing thousands of hides per month, our supply chain is continuous and the responsibility of inventory lies with us, not our customers.
  • We are currently operating on single shift with 2nd and 3rd shift capability.
  • We have extensive cut-to-pattern and cut-and-sew capabilities at the tannery in Leon, Mexico and cut-to-pattern capabilities in our US facility at different price points and in different styles of leather.
  • We specialize in providing training and education seminars to manufacturers (including their sales force) focusing on general leather education, care & cleaning and cutting/yield studies.
  • Our custom program is one of the best in the industry. We have over 8,600 colors in our computer and add to it daily. With over 35 different embossing plates, we can create a look to satisfy the most discriminating of customers.
  • We test every dye lot for color accuracy and technical requirements such as abrasion, adhesion, and flex. Our products are also routinely tested at an independent laboratory for a comprehensive battery of tests relating to technical performance.
  • We have a Color Marketing Group member on staff to monitor current color trends.
